What to Expect at Your First Visit
Maintaining a healthy, happy smile requires a comprehensive approach to both at-home dental hygiene and in-office dental care. And, no matter what your current dental situation may be, the first step to a healthier smile is your first visit to our office.
When you first walk into our Oklahoma City dentist office, you’ll be greeted by one of our dental staff members and given a small amount of paperwork to fill out to get you into our system. After that, you’ll be led to our treatment area, where our dentist, Dr. Bryan Sorgen, will perform a comprehensive oral examination. We may also take a number of other diagnostic measurements, including dental x-rays and photos. Afterward, Dr. Sorgen will talk with you to explain your dental situation, as well as dental problems you may have and recommended treatments to help you achieve an ideal smile. Finally, Dr. Sorgen will provide recommendations for at-home care and next steps for treatment.

How Often Should You Visit Our Office?
After your initial appointment, we’ll schedule follow-up and treatment appointments as needed to facilitate your optimal oral health. At a minimum, we’ll schedule twice-yearly appointments for dental examinations and teeth cleanings. These regular maintenance appointments are a critical part of maintaining oral health; without regular teeth cleaning, dental decay and periodontal disease can develop slowly and silently, eventually causing serious problems and leading to a variety of dental conditions, ranging from cavities to severe gum disease. However, with regular preventive appointments and strong at-home oral hygiene, we can prevent these issues, helping you maintain a healthy, beautiful smile for a lifetime.
